Yarn Along

Yarning along with Ginny over at small things:

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

Finishing up the third Rosa hat for one of the girls’ Christmas presents; next will be scarves to match. This is a very satisfying knit – a mock cable ribbing and then a quick stocking stitch in the round until the fast decreases at the top.

I’ve read the Fitzpatricks’ book Give Them Grace, and while I was encouraged by most of the parenting thoughts throughout, I felt there were some important areas lacking. If you at all subscribe to covenant theology, Parenting By God’s Promises by Joel Beeke does a much better job of focusing on the role of God’s promises for the family, as well as the strong hope found in the covenant of grace. I’m slowly plodding through, usually just a few minutes early in the mornings, but so far I have been greatly encouraged.
